My biggest gripe about .325 is that it really limits your options on bars and chains. I can't tell any difference performance wise between the 3/8 standard profile on my Dolly 5105 and .325 on my CS-500P. They both need sharpening about the same time, the Dolly works better in big wood because it has more engine power.

I'd rather have the 490 piston in the 501.

They didnt appear to spice up the 501 much over the 490 in port time...

490 with the removable transfer caps can be worked without a right angle.

I just don't like the gap the transfer caps leave, I've considered working the ports and caps, then JB welding the caps in, and finishing with a right angle, so the epoxy smoothes the gap.
