It came with 18" bar and chain that look OEM. (Sorry if the photo is misleading, I'm not giving it away) a neighbor had it in front of his house with the "Free..." sign on it. Thought I would take a stab at cleaning it up and getting it running again.
Serial number is right below the on/off switch on the case. It's a heavy translucent decal label and likely worn off on your saw. My Craftsman 4218 serial number is 02031D101801 : (07:40). Yours is probably pretty close to that. My model number is 358.350480. Here's my 4218 saw that runs well today:

A friend of mine found this saw in his basement 12 years ago and said, "Here, Edwin, fix it and it's yours." I did and kept it. The spark plug was a tad loose. It's a great limb-cutting firewood saw. Always starts and runs well.
Thank you @ammoaddict , I may end up having to get another bar!
I have a complete Poulan version with 18" bar and chain free for the cost of shipping. As I remember the compression is just low enough to where it won't start. Its just sitting in the basement, give me a holler if you want it.Can anyone point me to where the model number is on this Craftsman 18" 42cc saw? It has a barwrench-less clutch cover that is broken, no fuel filter or fuel line inside the tank. Neighbor had it on side of road with sign on it. Thought it would be fun to get it going again.
