It makes lump charcoal and takes some getting used to. Its hot alright!
Cool...I like that. As far as buying the Kingsford, I usually get 8-10 twin 20lb bags, once around Mem Day when HD has it on sale, then buy again around Labor Day, they'll run it again. Albeit now, they're twin 18.6lb bags instead of 20lb/ea. Go figure.

Amazing fellas, how well the ol' skool Coleman stuff was built decades and decades ago. Tons and tons of stuff from as far back as six decades old and then some, folks have posted pics of, myself as well...and still running.

On a closer look it looks like propane tank and a regulator and the hard to come by coleman stove fittin.
Our tanks have to be inspected every 10 years,, most get tossed,, another govenment scam!!!

You wouldn't be able to get that tank filled legally today. But it is cool for sure.

Those old propane tanks make nice "cheaters" they can hold a ton of compressed air so yo can hit a big tubeless tire to blow it on the rim

Had a compression -clip regulator. Two hoses coming out that fit there first propane stoves and a lantern modeled after the white gas ones.
Had a removable tube in the base that held a special propane canister and an insert with a center tube that was threaded on the outer edge for the hose connection
