Did excellent for $5...all you're missing are mantles. I have several old school Coleman lanterns, 8-10 old Coleman model 500 single burner camp stoves (late 50's-60's-70's era) that work, and several old 2-burner/3-burner Powerhouse Dual-Fuel Coleman camp stoves.

i snagged another coleman today for 10.00 at a yard sale its way older i looked it up and found out it was made in early 1972
i had to replace the mantels flush out the fuel tank of nasty green fuel no rust in the tank though replaced the pump assembly and and flushed out the generator tube added some fuel and pumped it up and it came to life.

I've never noticed a difference in light color due to the mantels. It's usually old or dirty fuel, fuel pressure, or the little wire in the generator might be broken. I think you turn it on and off a bunch of times and the wire cleans the jet

after running for a hr and adding a few capfuls of berryman b12 to the fuel it started burning better and more white. i cooked breakfast with it keeping my electric lights off i would say it puts out as much light as a 250 watt light.

Here's a shot of some of my Powerhouse Dual-Fuel 2/3 burner stoves. Have several in their boxes that date back many, many yrs ago. As well as my model 500 single burner stoves, and lanterns. These guys are all in the top of my non-a/c'd shop...it's a damn miserable sauna at times in the top of the shop...like right now. I do have a gable, thermostatic fan up there, it's a sweat box nonetheless.

Didn't want you folks to think I was talking chit about some of the Coleman stuff I got. Some of these stoves were absolutely scummy when I bought them...a little elbow grease, Simple Green, etc...and you can make ol' school chit look like new...minus the little rust.
