Do you indulge in the occasional stogie ?
I do not.

Last time I tried was at a reunion with Marine buddies about 20 years ago. I coughed and hacked like the amateur I am. I think I was trying to smoke it like I was smoking other stuff in high school. We all got a good laugh out of it....

Here is the back story: We were in Saudi Arabia during the first Gulf War. A friend of my Mom's started sending me boxes of cigars, nothing fancy. My buddies thought that was the cat's meow, and couldn't wait to get another box. We thought we were big dogs, like Gen. McArthur, or something. Some of them are passionate about cigars now, just like you. The habit never stuck with me, but it doesn't stop them from trying to get me to smoke one for old time's sake. Great memories

Lol, that sounds similar to the first time I had a cigar, except I starting losing my lunch after the coughing & hacking had mostly subsided.

I know that Jake said that he sends some cigars to the troops & I saw where a cigar reviewer in Florida does a drive to collect stogies for Cigars for Warriors

Thanks for sharing & thank you and your buddies; as well as anyone else on this thread who has been in the military for serving our country.

Sever wind and t-storms meant it was shop day here for me today. Figured it was a good time to enjoy a cigar while I grind some chains.

This one was tasty. I got tones of earthy creamy smoke with hints of slightly sweet nutty tobacco and a peppery/spicy aftertaste. Very nice. Although I had to stop about half way through and relight later. This one was quite heady for me.
