Cheap grinder for doing rakers?

Suggestions? What's the best way to measure raker height using a grinder?

I think mine is a Northern tool , 511 knockoff...I touch the tooth not running with a shim under the height adjustment ...say .020"...then remove shim and grind away , reset on opposite side tooth...
