My log splitter has done a good job for many years. However, I just started having a problem. It starts and runs fine for 30-60 seconds, then the engine stops. I am able to choke and start again, only to go through the same cycle.
Any thoughts on what could cause this?
Please let me know. I've already checked the gas and air filter. Also cleaned the carburetor.

There is definitely something wrong with the fuel delivery, and you've done everything I would have at this point.

I also have a Champion and have never traced the fuel line. Since you have tried all else, remove all fuel lines and blow them out good. I'm not even sure if it is purely gravity feed or if there is some sort of impulse pump, but you'll have to investigate that also if all lines are clear.

One more thing. Try removing the fuel cap. If it runs fine without the cap then clean the cap, as it is not venting and creating a vapor lock.

Good Luck.

Have you checked for water/condensation in the sediment bowl?
I would take the tank off and be sure there isn't crud around the sump and inlet. I have a Honda (20 years trouble free til this year) then this got me.

You nailed it! I removed the cap and it ran for a good hour before I shut it off. Thank you sooo much. You made my day much easier!

This is one of my first go to's. There is no cheaper and easier diagnossis beyond ensuring there is fuel in the tank.
