The only number I found on it is 308246. It is cast way back in the narrow section of the painted portion.IMG_20160219_123623988.jpg IMG_20160219_123619156.jpg

I'm interested because I used to have one exactly like this that I put on a scooter when I was 13 or 14.

Cool. Thanks! I don't think the IPL will be much use to me though. This is all I have of the saw. I have a few of them NOS.

There's about 15 rebrands of those around. Skil, Pioneer, Jred, Husky, Partner etc etc

They were made by Trail mfg/Quadra in British Columbia

Like Carl said, condolences

Enlighten me on some of the other models if you can. I would like these to go away.

I did see CANADA stamped into this one some place, but I don't remember where. Then the recoil says Made in USA. Guessing that it was just assembled here. The only reason that I'm even fooling around this one is because it's complete, and my Dad thought it would be handy to trim cedar limbs. He found it in an old garage and asked if I could make it run. I still need to grab a fuel line and filter, and cut a couple carb gaskets, and it should be ready to try and piece back together. It's a tiny little bugger. I only figured out what it was when I googled Skil 946 and the only results that came up were Partner 1616.

Thanks for the info. From the comments given about this saw, I assume they were not much loved...

They will run and cut wood. They're just like any other tiny clamshell, a pain in the ass to work on.

A micro series Poulan is probably easier and is a much better saw overall.
