What is the stenciling gel tape called and where do you source it?

Thanks,
Scott
That particular stuff is drop from out mylar cutting machine that we use to make CNC masking for painting. We have some in a roll as shown here,

that we get from McMaster Carr and can get you the part number Monday. In simple terms its mylar tape and its billy badass! You can blast it, engine turn over it, and bake it and it will stick great and come off cleanly!

I made an evilbay snag of 31 assorted bar tips (mostly Windsor) and have about 20-25 left. The vultures at the GTG carried away some.
Lots of small ones in .325" & 3/8" LP.

Do you have a problem with rust? Do you use a rust preventer?

This is my first go around with the bluing so I really don't know yet what the durability will be long term wise. Based on what others have said, as long as you get a coat of oil on them immediately after bluing them, they should be fine. I'm assuming that they must hold up or others wouldn't be going through the hassle of doing it. I used a sponge type paint brush to apply a coat of 90wt. Gear oil to mine because it sticks so well while they are not mounted. I just plan to always re-coat them with a light mist of WD40 or engine storage Fogger spray (boat winter storage Fogger) after each use. If it's anything like my gun barrels in the rain, that should be fine.

Utah, unfortunately.....
I had this ugly bar hanging behind some others, and thought it would be a good candidate for a quick clean up.

I used a little WD 40 type spray, and a 60 grit 4 1/2" Diablo Polishing& Grinding flap disc.

It was less than 10 minutes from start to finish. I'm going to see what I can find in finer grits.
