I have some cedar logs that need something done with. Are they worth hitting up a local furniture maker to see if they want them?

I assume they don’t make great firewood with how light the wood is. Any other good uses?

If they are 8’6’ or longer, I would see about getting them milled. More useful as lumber than firewood

Western Cedar or Eastern Red Cedar (Juniper)? Western is more valuable for lumber but board clarity is most important.

Typically milling to 1” lumber is best. Often as T&G.

Mill it and sell it. Custom Turkey call makers like it also.

My Dad made mailbox post and grape vine trellises and clothesline "T"s from eastern cedar.
Lasted for many years.
