Did you make the intake that long to tune it or is it just to make it reach out of the covers to fit the filter on?
It looks fantastic.

I am not exprt but from what I know, a longer intake can help increase low down torque but hampers top end due to aire resistance in the longer tube.
Did you notice any difference in performance when you fitted this. I would love to know if that theory holds for small 2 stroke motors as well and bigger car engines

I made it like that to clear the top cover. That saw needs some of my undivided attention as it just "runs".. Not good yet but that saw has had a lot of work done. Its a 2145 with 359 crank and 272 cylinder.

Air filter mod.

Boring choke side and venturi.

Factory choke plate right.

Bored venturi from 14.25mm to 15.6 ish.

Made these to ease hooking choke and throttle rods.

Blocked the old impulse port and added a nipple to the top cap.
Carb even worked after all that lol

I like that!
Filter might get in the way for some applications but for cross cutting it's great

I use it for cutting timber everyday. Well almost everyday. It is not running right as of late need to investigate it. Just not a lot of time to do it. Just have to be a little more mindful of sticks and things not to tear a hole in it. If it is something you would like to try I can give you some more details and pics to help you along.
