Hello again I wanted to ask you another question, I have to install a new carburetor on my Stihl 084, I tried a Chinese competition carburetor from AliExpress but the machine is very bad (I just found this amazing article on AliExpress. Check it out! €48.54 | Carburetor fits STIHL 088 MS880 REPL tiltson HT-12E 1124 120 0609 https://a.aliexpress.com/_EztN6vX) it is very difficult to start and then it does not go well and it turns off, I have asked at the Stihl dealership here where I live and it appears that the original carburetor is discontinued, do you know that another carburetor will is it worth 084?? that of the 088 is also discontinued. My machine has everything new, retain the crankshaft, bearings, gaskets, piston, piston rings..... What other carburetor model is good for my machine? A greeting from Spain

Hello

Thanks for your kind reply

The bad thing that Farmertec carburettors are Chinese too

Here in Spain there is this company that also sells them and it is the same

On one occasion for a Husqvarna 575 I bought a Chinese carburetor and the machine didn't work and I bought it on this website and the machine worked perfectly but I was looking for the original carburetor

A greeting from Spain

I think the Tillotson HT7A is the more desirable carb for these 084s.

Why not rebuild your existing carb? You can use the diaphragms from the Chinese unit.

Hello, the original carburetor cannot be rebuilt since the machine has been stopped for many years and the carburetor is completely useless, so I have to buy a new carburetor.

You can put a want Ad in the parts section of the Chainsaw Ads forum and see if someone can get you a used OEM carburetor.

I'm thinking that I'm going to try to repair the original carburetor as someone has commented, these days I'm going to try it to see if the machine starts, otherwise I'll disassemble it and clean it with the liquid I used for the oil pump, although I also thought about take it to a company that does ultrasonic cleaning, does anyone have experience in taking these carburetors to an ultrasonic machine? Are they good or is it a waste of money?

Hello again, good morning from Spain

Well, today in the morning I have assembled the old carburettor of the machine and surprise! although I thought it would be totally dirty and clogged inside, it seems that the machine wants to give some starting piston, I have seen the gasoline hose and it sucks the gasoline from the tank to the engine, so it seems that I can still recover that carburetor, I thought that no, that would be totally damaged, so I'm going to buy a carburettor cleaner and the new membranes and see if I have any luck.

hello again guys,

Well, I will tell you, today I have disassembled the original carburetor of the machine and I have cleaned it, inside it is apparently very healthy, the membranes it had were very old and hard so I put a new carburetor repair kit on it, before that I have cleaned the carburetor from the inside with a product and I think it has turned out very well, the bad thing is that when I have assembled everything, the carburetor needle stays open and it continues to put gasoline into the machine, I have assembled the reconstruction kit well with the joint below the membrane, but even so the needle remains a little open and gasoline continues to enter the machine and logically it drowns, so I have to disassemble the carburetor again to see what happens there, but it seems that everything is going well that in not a long time the machine will work again.

I put some photos

when reassembling the metering side, are you being sure that the lever gets hooked onto the nub on the diaphram? if not then you will keep the valve open and flood.

Hello, good morning from Spain, what do you mean by "the lever gets hooked on the protuberance of the diaphragm"? The needle lever is mounted and the protuberance of the diaphragm of the membrane acts on it, but it does not engage in the lever.

All the best.

Is the level hooked on that part of the membrane?
You can also pressurize the fuel hose into the carburetor when its off of the saw, it should hold 15psi .

Hello again, I just looked at the old screen and I understand that you mean that the lever must fit here, in this groove of the protrusion, right? The truth is that I have not noticed if the new membrane has that bulge, I understand that if it should have it, when I have free time I will disassemble it and look.

Thank you.

All the best.
