You have to watch auctions because they might be full of "shills " bid raisers ,con men or woman working with the owners or auctioneers .You probably won't see any buying chainsaws though .You can do okay at flea markets some times but assume it will need some work and always haggle the asking price, they expect it .

Well yea ,got me in trouble because I was married to a red head followed by a strawberry blonde incognito as blonde .Now a true blonde .

We started going out over a year ago,she sends me supper when she can't make it to my house,like a private DoorDash.And i am not allowed to do laundry.

Not to get carried away but it was one divorce and one death .No more saying I do .This one resides with me and is making an afghan as I type .She's a keeper .73 years old but with the enthusiasm of an 18 year old without further conversation on that .WTH I'm 72 going on 19 myself .Never under estimate some of us old farts ,we've still got it .

Mine actually had crazy papers...
After she left the first time,we did the counseling thing,she went to a psychiatrist who gave her the bad news and papers.The counselor told me that i didn't have to keep coming just her.Pissed her off even more so she quit going too.
Things never did get better,i endured because of our daughter.But lost her too,the redhead turned her against me and i haven't heard from her in 19 months.
Sucks big time,especially during the holidays and her birthday.

Not to sound like a counselor but I've traveled that road and here' is how it goes down .First it's called PAS parental alienation syndrome . It will burn itself out but it normally takes some time because both parties are pizzed and the kids get caught up in the cross fire .Don't give up the ship . They are too close to the problem but will get a good view when they step back a little bit and it will happen in time .Count on it .

I am patient and hopeful,waited years hoping the demon would straighten herself out,nothing i did helped.
If i waited that long for somebody that wasn't my kin,i can give my daughter the same if not longer.

I buy alot of my saws at farm consignment sales. I always assume they are just for parts. I know the usual things to look for like light on compression or swipe my finger in the fuel tank of newer poulan saws to check for broken fuel lines. Like was said Stihl and husky can go for stupid money. Even with no compression. I tend to buy alot of other brands. Efco/olympic and older echo saws are considered junk around my parts. Old poulan and Remington and homelite I have picked up for less than scrap. Online auction scare me as I can't touch or smell the saw they have to be really cheap. I did buy a bunch of saws earlier this year only after reviewing the pictures very closely. Paid well under scrap price. The value is all about what you are willing to pay.
