Finger ports , gone wrongHey guys, i recently acquired a 084 that was supposedly built to race. Needless to say it didn't perform very well. I pulled the cylinder off and found some odd stuff I have never seen before. Tell me what you think.
I think the guy that was working on that might have watched a YouTube video and said...."Hey, I can do that..." or he might have been drunk or blind at the time. That sucks pulling the top off and seeing that, unless you got a really good deal on the saw.I pulled the cylinder off and found some odd stuff I have never seen before. Tell me what you think.

That was what I was thinking. Ole Iron Horse and his mean mugging goon of a sonIron Pony ,lol
I guess you could also say that the cylinder was manually scored.done wrong they’re just ditches in the cylinder wall
But Unlike the meaning, stuffing it with bananas

It was.Was the piston installed backwards as well?
I got a good deal, happy I know whats wrong with it. Finger ports go above transfers.I think you got screwed.
Both finger and bridge ports gone terribly wrong.
That’s actually good. The ring ends would pass over the fingers and could snag if it were in the original orientation. It was.

At least a new aftermarket piston and cylinder is relatively inexpensive, about half as much as a new Stihl.I got a good deal, happy I know whats wrong with it. Finger ports go above transfers.
That looks like the Caribou-horn design. Did that saw come from Canada?
