Got a feeling my saws will be out and about this weekend -- had a front come through where it went from 60's / 70's temps here in Mass back to winter. Forecast low for Saturday is 11 w/ high of only 22.
Already a friend in town had a decent sized hemlock succumb to the wind.
Last time it was an 80+ year old ash tree that was really nice. Too bad this one isn't hard wood.
We can probably split and burn it in our maple sugaring boiler. hemlock seems to pop and crackle like crazy but we nomally burn white pine the boiler has no problem w/ it and it burns hot. Not sure how hemlock will fare.
We'll see what we get. Might have to test drive that 51 / 55 that we just put together at Dan's.
