Ok I know this isn't the right area. Looking for more traffic. If it needs moved go for it.

I have a basically new bg86 that needs a piston. Ordered a replacement and it is a bit different than the original.

Pics of the original be replacement piston. And top of the cyl for identification.

Plus spin the piston around so it's facing the same direction. I'm sure it will work it's just cast different than the OEM piston if infact that the new one is a aftermarket one.

I'm guessing the new piston is aftermarket?

Replacement is oem. Whopping $12 no reason to go am.

Held it in that orientation to show the difference in the strato.

Possible they made a change for a reason but if that's what there calling for I'd use it by the looks of it it's a heavier piston but that shouldn't be a big deal give you a little bit more low end torque.

I agree with wayne

He’s not real bright

I also agree it will run fine maybe even better than before.

A motor isn’t a fuel pump it’s an air pump. The challenge is filling the cylinder with fresh air. As much as we can get in. The easy part is getting fuel in.

My candle runs pretty dim most of the time and it's pretty annoying when it goes out completely.:risas3:

According to your picture with the cylinder, you have the older version of the cylinder. Your piston may be the new version, I`m not exactly sure because I can`t see what`s stamped inside. If there is 4144 inside, it is the new one 4241 030 2007. This new version can`t be used with the (your) previous cylinder. You have to use the older version of the piston 4241 030 2001.

That's exactly what I was looking for. Thank you

As I understand it, you are good to go. This is the older version of the cylinder and the piston.
