Are there any bearings like koyo Japan or another high quality manufacturer that are better than oem?

Most bearings aren’t truly OEM. If you look at the ones you pull out they will often say SKF or slacker. Other brands too. Even the “proprietary” bearings are usually made by one of the big names and can be ordered without the chainsaw brand. They aren’t usually any cheaper though. Ceramic bearings are probably the best, but unnecessary. The trick is to find quality bearings at the cheapest prices. If Nachi is cheaper than Koyo or SKF is more than slacker, the quality difference is imperceptible.

Stihl's bearings are made by NTN now. The 440 and 660 I took apart and new oem bearing for them are NTN, including the special clutch side bearing. But I've seen some slacker though.

Does NTN state where bearing is manufactured? See that have over 50 factories world wide.
