thats a pretty cool setup for working on bars, do they currently make anything similiar? how much are those old ones worth?
They have not been made in years and there is no product support for them now. The wheels are the really tough thing to find. In the 1950's Oregon made a grinder to regroove bars. I have one of those also. Several companies have made grinders to true the rails. As for their value that is impossible to answer.

I just tried phoning Specialty Motors but there was no answer. I am betting they took a extended holiday weekend

I am wondering if anyone knows what has happened with Chain Bar Repair. It looks like they have shut down

I have the Oregon Bar Tender. I've called Oregon and they know literally nothing about it not even evidence that they ever made it. I've called Norton and they say if I knew the part numbers they could help me, to which I retorted, if I knew that I probably wouldn't be calling.
Is there anyone out there in internet land that knows where I can get wheels in the different gauges for this?

srcarr52 built a custom bar rail groove grinder, and posted it on A.S., many years ago.

I can’t find the thread with photos, but you could try reaching out to him.

I also have a Oregon Bar Tender. Here is a scan of the 1957 book.

As you can see Oregon states the grooving wheels were made by Norton.

The Achilles heel on all of these is the consumables. There simply is not enough demand today for a company to build the discs/wheels. We have become a throwaway society and that is not good. I am just as guilty as anyone else.

I am still on the hunt. I am kinda like a dog knawing on a dinosaur bone. I may never get to the end but damn I will keep trying.

I used an internally reinforced cut wheel made by Norton I got from McMaster-Carr, it worked for 63g but I had to dress the wheel down for 50g. Now I can't find the wheel on McMaster anymore.

I would like to know how Chain Bar Repair built theirs but I believe they are closed down. About 12 years ago I sent him some top and bottom rails for a Mall 2 man bow but he sent them back saying he had no way to hold them for reproduction.
