Heh. I think of that as "reverse survivor's guilt" -- the future is gonna suck, but it won't be my problem.

I feel the same way. The boomer shafted us and we are shafting our kids and for alot of reasons.

I’m happy OPE doesn’t have all the drama sections like AS does. The Political and Religion sections are filled with some of the scummiest users of any forums I visit.

Sometimes it’s just pure entertainment reading how much they all argue and how similar the stuff they’re arguing about actually is. Like someone should slap them on the back of the head and say “you can’t both argue about the same thing in the same way”.

Found some good repair info on AS when I started repairing saws, so I was a supporting member. Just canceled today!
Yearly subscription went up from $20 to $30 annually. Also all the hatred on the site. Moved my annual subscription to OPE.

Last time I was on AS it was the most stupid thing I've ever seen, discussing politics can be great as long as you discuss politics, there's always give and take but in a polite and factual tone. Basically anything they're not interested in.
I'm glad we don't have the hate that they do.

Oh it’s alive and as toxic as ever. I did the “Lifetime” Membership when I got an email advertising it for $79 at one time. Getting rid of all the stupid ads was the only reason for me as I used to spend a lot of time on AS and it seemed like a decent place at the time. I was a guest for waaaaaaay longer and bought in as soon as I actually registered.

Hate has no place anywhere except for putting mustard on hot dogs. Ain’t no reason for that.

Politics can only be discussed if you are willing to listen to the other person, there are always pros and cons with most things, regardless of side.
They haven't been able to do that over there, the only thing I remember from that section was the cliques and the bitterness/hatred.

AS is the easiest forum I have ever left, haven't missed the forum at all.
