I became a member on AS in March 2, 2002 shortly after it began......hard to believe that was over 24 years ago. I did not know anything about web forums and such. The late John Lambert "Gypo Logger" urged me to join anyway. He said it was a great place to talk about saws, forestry, and such. It really was a great place and I conversed with a lot of great members. That lead to some great phone conversations, some of which I still BS on the phone with to this day. I also met many members at GTG's, shows, races, and such.

I want to be clear this issue was prior to current ownership of the site by Cultured Media. The first issue I had was probably around 2006-2008......I am estimating .... At that time the rules for the trading post/for sale/wanted section was constantly changing. There were times when the rule was only sponsors could reply to certain ads for the first 3 days. That was a mess and was eliminated. It went through several other changes that improved it. I was listing/selling/trading a lot of saws and parts. I then received a message that if I did not buy a sponsorship I would not be allowed to continue. I replied to management I would gladly do so if the issues I had raised previously regarding inappropriate posts related to females were addressed. I had a record of the private messages I had sent to management regarding posts that clearly were vile and disgusting in relation to women. Not only were they never addressed I never even got a reply. Eventually they dropped the sponsorship threat.

After that things went along smoothly until 2022.....................
Bill, was that when Darin and Jennifer owned AS?
I was originally on ToolShed forums where I met John Lambert, Russ Christiansen and a few others. We all ended up migrating to AS. Back then the site was much different. Way better quality posters and more active. It started to go down hill around 06-08 time frame you mentioned. I dropped out more or less. When years latter it was a shell of what it was and full of retards to be honest. Took another break and returned Ed a few years ago and its not terrible now, just really slow.

Yes the issue I mentioned was when Darrin and Jill owned the site. They were not the original owners though. As I said things went smooth after that issue until 2022.
