I haven't played in years (and was never that good when I did) but I think I may start again, one of my buddies wants to get some practice in so he won't frustrate his Dad so bad when they play together.

What ball y'all play I'm on the wilson duo at the moment. I have potential to be in the low 80s just not the consistency right now I like the game very well though

The brand of the golf club is not real important. Of much more significance is the proper fitting of the club to the users swing characteristics. A cheap club that fits is much better than a pro line club that doesn't. All the heads are pretty good, most important thing is the shaft and how it works for you.

On drivers the kick point will influence ball flight much more than loft.

Golf club fitting is pretty scientific now days and purchasing without hitting on a launch monitor is pretty foolish.

For balls I change things up but normally hit Pro V1x's. The regular Pro V1 is a real high spin ball and very poor in high wind.

Bridgestone 330 S, and 330RX are real good.

I like Srixon Z stars a lot, especially the yellow when the leaves are out.

In cold weather hit a lower compression ball.

FWIW, I had some new irons made 3 weeks ago, they are cheap clones and I shot a 74 the last time I played with a couple three putts.

Good point, going to the local shop to get fitted for a set in the next week or two myself. If I am going to start playing I might as well have a set of clubs that fits, also going to ask about some lessons.

I generally play Titleist DT 90's. I get them from a company I do a lot of business with.
When I was growing up, we lived close to a Country Club. I worked there as a caddy during the summer. I'd walk a few different spots on the course every night on my way home. I had buckets of quality golf balls. The crappy ones, my dad and I used as shag balls.
The only ball I don't like is Top Flight. Kind of like hitting a rock.

Ha ha top flight. They are rocks. That's great I'm not even on the same level as sons of you folks but I'd love to play a round with you guys I have fairly nice clubs bug I suck at putting. I threw a putter out this year mad as hell but not the annoying dude that can't accept a loss.

Have just got back the fever back. Spent all summer last year working out of town. So had plenty of time to play. Love getting out for a round and a few cigars. Picture from the memorial outing we had after my father's passing. IMG_20161022_133947539.jpg

I have 3 clubs I played at the company when they had free beer tand chit loads of catered food and prizes and more liquor. Then the owners son started taking over and is a little *b-word cut it down to 3 beer tickets and a food voucher for the club house. Haven't played in 7 years
