I use the Husky/Jred roller filing guide. Happened to be reading online about them and they say not for use on skip chain, news to me. I’ve used it on 75jgx chain with great results. Any idea why they would say not for skip chain? Thanks.

I can't see any reason why it wouldn't be suitable for a skip chain. I have them and use them now and then to help keep the angles right, and use them on full comp and skip alike with zero issues. If it's the correct guide for the chain size, skip or full comp is irrelevant. Unless I'm totally missing something

Yeah, I couldn’t figure out why either. 3/8 is 3/8. And not lp or picco.

I’ve used the stand alone Husky raker plate on skip and it seemed to be fine, then it was pointed out to me by a friend they aren’t designed for skip. I haven’t needed to touch rakers since so I haven’t had the need but I want to get measurements next time I file them.
