If it's minute of coyote I'll be quite happy. As I have mentioned many times before, my marksmanship is not so good so just about any upper should work.
How's the trigger on that gun?
I've had to replace a few that were terrible.

So, you prefer the rifle buttstock too I see. Carbine stocks just don't give me a good cheek weld and the buffer sliding back and forth jars my teeth.
Actually no, I hear the buffer spring echoing in that hollow buttstock, I don't hear it in the carbine butt, I just had it leftover from another build
I get good cheek weld with either one, if not I can change sights untill I do.
My old eyes do not do iron sights well so I'm liking the red dots, I think I have as many red dots as scopes these days.

I have never seen a good trigger from the factory unless you pay a lot for the rifle, I put a $130 rise armament 3 1/2# trigger in the 2 tone one and it is sweet, I worked the other one down to about 4 1/2# with no creep, not quite as sweet as the other

It is rather heavy but crisp, reminds me of a factory Remington 700. A light trigger doesn't do me any favors so I am happy with it. My LPK came with a stainless hammer and trigger and they are mirror smooth.

Somebody (Magpul?) makes a rifle length buttstock that has a trim profile and would compliment a carbine quite well.

Have you ever had issues with light strikes from the 3 1/2lb trigger?
I have a 3lb Timney that won't ignite military primers reliably.

Hasn't failed yet, but it does sound a bit liter than the other one.

Got my mags and charging handle, so I took off a little early to try out the rifle. I fired about 25 rounds of Russky steel case 55 grain FMJ .223's which are $4.00/20 around here. Every round fed, fired, and ejected properly. Once i got the sights dialed in, the rifle was showing about the same accuracy as my .30-30's at 65 yards. Didn't have time to take it out longer or try reloads but I'll try to do so soon.

I'm really impressed with this rifle for under $500.00 total. If you like shooting rifles with sights, the M16 style is just great. The rear is easily adjusted without tools and having two apertures at the ready is really handy. If more rifles had respectable sights like these, perhaps less shooters would just assume they can't shoot without a scope.

Put some more rounds through the rifle today. In spite of the fading light and my frozen fingers it still produces respectable groups at 75 yards, around 1.5". This doesnt sound like much, but is as good or better than all my other rifles except my .257 Roberts bolt action. I'm sure a real rifleman/woman could do alot better.

I'm glad to hear you like it. 1.5" @ 75yds, with open sights isn't bad at all.
Your handloads should better that steel case Russian stuff.

I have to admit, it's so liberating not to chase brass when shooting steel case ammo. So, im going to see if I can split the difference. Pulled the bullets out of half a box of Russky ammo and replaced them with 55 grain Hornady soft points. So, hopefully I now have disposable ammo with good bullets!

Ugh, I think I got da fever bad. Just ordered a complete lower from Palmetto for $129.00 with free shipping. Not even planning to get an upper for it any time soon, but I know I'm going to want to build another one so might as well.

Yep, that's how it works.
A while back I bought several lowers, with no uppers to stick on them.
Still have a couple, waiting for uppers.
I saw those at PSA. For $129, I thought about buying a couple more but didn't.
