Aftermarket clutch covers

I have been looking at purchasing a couple of the aftermarket clutch covers for a couple of my stihl saws. Has anyone had any experience with them or where to purchase from. The oem ones are just way to expensive.

Dunno about Stihl but I got a clutch cover/chain brake/flag for a Husky 55 from Huztl-ebay. It's pretty good quality for $19. The packaging scared me, tho - it was a bubble wrapped chain brake that you could spot from 50 yds.

The aftermarket Stihl covers are fine I've used quite a few on pro saws . You'll find they are a wee bit thicker when you bolt them on (less thread left) but no issues from it .

Yeah, they're fine, Nic. I have one here and it looks almost identical to the real thing. Just no Stihl markings anywhere.

Clint which brand did you go with and from where.

I had to take a dremel to one I bought on ebay to get it to fit right on an 066

I bought the cheapest one on ebay from china. Had to grind a little on the inside of the cover around the chain tensioner to make it sit flat like it should.

I bought one aftermarket one for a Stihl 250 and it fit but still wasn't as good as the original. Something just seemed a little off. I just bought a new OEM normal cover for my 460 and it was in the $60 range from dealer as I recall. Ouch!
