for a mig you need a spool gun i have one but have never tried using it because most all my stuff is steel and i do not have any pieces of aluminum laying around

welding special materials like alu , bronze , magnesium the welder must be ACDC type and must use special airs like helium , or argon 100% the other procedure is the same like to weld a piece of iron.

No special gun for alu , the gun is the same , the wire and the air change, spool guns for alu need only if you want to go in far distance they have two mechanism one pus and the other pull like this
