562XP....it'll handle that 24" bar. I like having a go to option between the 50cc and 70cc class. I got a new one sitting on the shelf I should sell.

Anything Stihl, Husqy, or Dolkita; can't go wrong with either. Echo also makes a good product.

Arguably, you already have the best 50cc in stock form. Ported 346s are tough to beat if you can find one. There are a lot of good options other than a 346, (Stihl 261, Husqy 550, Dolkita 5000, etc.). It is a good time to be a saw nut.

You may have the best 2-saw plan there is. Buy whatever you want and have fun.

I tried and searched a long time to try get the best 2 I thought would work for my needs and budget.

thats why a 3rd is kinda toy or experiment saw if that makes sense.

I don’t normally like the 60cc class saws much but I think it makes the most sense for your situation. Gooder 1 saw firewood plan should anything ever happen to your other saws.

Since you’re more of an old school (not as familiar with auto tune) guy, you might want to hunt down a 6100. Great saw and usually cheaper than the other options. If you want to go with a dark horse check out a stihl ms400 70cc power in a 60cc size/weight package.

That MS400 does look like an interesting option. I have looked at 6100 but when things get too heavy I tend to grab the 7900. Right now I’m middle age and still have a little strength left so if cutting up anything with much mass I grab the 7900.

One thing that had me curious about @davidwyby Jred 2252 is would it feel more nimble than my 5000/5105 for cutting up the limbs for firewood. That’s one thing I liked about my 026 It feels more nimble

Here is a tree had to cut up that went down in a storm couple months ago on a hunting property I manage. Was running feeders came across this. Had to go all the way back off the mountain and get my saws and come clean it up.

Port the 50. Then its still a 50 size wise but you don't need a 60 to get the power.
Coming from a guy with 3x 60s...

I plan to get the 5105/5000 ported. Randy said give him a couple weeks before dropping off the 7900 and due to his work load so it will take a while.

Don’t wanna be without both for that long. So prob put it off til next year
