I port matched the case on a 625 Jonsered which is almost the same as a 61 and put one of these in it.Its an old style 630 Jonsered piston 48 mm.Its my favorite 60 cc sawView attachment 218440
Good deal! I also was doing some mis matching and I think u could use a 365 piston in it as well. Dont know if a windowed piston would help or hurt an open port saw though?

The full skirt on that particular windowed piston is why I think the 625 runs so well.

You’d get more gain from installing a 266/268/272 topend and intake tract that better suits the chassis rather than grinding on the cases for a 61cc open port cylinder. Imho.

I was really wondering if there was a factory case that matched that cylinder. Not looking to replace the dog for tail I have necessarily.
Interesting it seems like a factory solution in some cases.
Just seems like there’s potential there not being used.

Base gasket delete for the win! If you're just going back stock.

Sorry for the hi-jack here, but I just got a 61 to work on today. Can anyone figure out what I’m seeing on the flywheel? Is it pitting, someone drop it or is something going on with the coil blowing holes in it? 6719391A-7C3C-43A5-87E3-9AE2C3D896C2.jpeg
The magnet side seems fine...8998F3DE-C283-4842-92FA-D20DCC110CEC.jpeg

I was just bout to say the jonsered saws are the same way as far as case blocking the lower transfers as well as the gasket. I've tried several piston options and never noticed much difference except using a windowed 61 piston in a 630. That makes a dang good runner.

The windowed single ring 61 piston is what is in the 630 super 2.I put those in all the 630s I’ve built there is a very noticeable improvement in Performance.
