Working on a 576 and ordered an aftermarket piston. Piston arrived (Golf) and just looking at it I can see it straight up SUCKS! Not only is the casting and machining horrendous, the strato port cuts are nowhere close, rings are different heights and the Golf literally weighs almost double what the oem does.

Anyone have a 576 piston they want to part with?

I've worked over a couple Golf pistons for applications in which I had no other option, and they turned out ok.

That being said I did go with a new OEM piston & rings for the last 576 I rebuilt and it was $96 at the dealer.

I did begin porting. During my search I have found 3 different part numbers for the 576 cylinder

575257406
575257404
575257402

Anyone have any intel as to the difference in the cylinders? Which one is best or more desirable?

I picked up a golf piston for my 576 as well and it was of poor quality I just too a dremel to it. haven't used it yet but I will once I get the rest of my parts I need.

Looks like according to the latest IPL that the only cylinder available is 575 257 406 for both auto tune and the manual tune saw. It also says that it replaces previous cylinder numbers, so I'm going to hazard to say that the other numbers are older versions. What exactly was different I have no idea. So to recap, just the one cylinder for both versions of this saw.
