550XP Fuel Line

I rerouted the fuel line and cut the top up on my 550xp we'll see if it helps the hot start crap. My 562 has no problems at all?? weird but o well I'll cut some wood again when it gets hot as hell this weekend and see if there is any change.

Interesting. Did you try a pump of the primer and moving the control lever to high idle? They seem to like high idle most every time

I've tried all the starting procedures it only has the problem when it's extremely hot outside. I don't cut much in the hot weather and have other saws just wanted tinker with it a little. I noticed in the new carbs the line was rerouted so I figured I'd give it a try.

Ran it in the heat yesterday afternoon no noticeable change so if anyone has any suggestions let me know. On a side note I ran the 661 same wood same amount of time and it starts on the first pull no matter how hot it gets

Pull the carb and check the intake boot, i had a saw come in one time and when the carb was installed at the factory one of the strato ports on the carb hung the boot and folded it over. If not that then it may have a leaking transfer cap, seen that before as well.

I replaced the boot for that exact reason awhile ago. If i pull off the transfer covers do i use gasket sealer to put them back on or try and reuse the gasket on them?

I always use Hondabond HT on both sides of the gaskets any time I remove the covers.

Ok so i pulled the cylinder took off transfer covers resealed them and also readjusted the ignition it looked to close so i did the business card gap. No change. When it does start back it takes awhile to get it to rev back to full throttle, I can kill it with the throttle if i don't baby it for long enough hmmmmm. But once it gets going its back to running like a scalded dog again. I reckon it's not that big a deal its just a 2-3 minute process but i would love to know what causes it.

when you had the intake elbow off you can try to adjust the screw on the face of the carb a bit. maybe 1/4 turn. Not sure if clockwise or counter clockwise would help.
