I have been trying to track down an a CD ignition module for my John Deere (Echo) 51SV for a number of years. This was one of the best running saws I have owned for smaller jobs and I really don't want to abandon it. Would appreciate any leads on where to find a module. Thanks all.

Is a 2 part ignition? Separate trigger and coil?

Maybe it's possible to use a pick up coil from a husky 2 piece ignition.

First step would be to see if the bolt pattern is the same between Echo and Husqvarna.
Dolmar made also a few 2 piece ignitions.

As a suggestion Google "Seek Pro" which is a marketing group that sells on Amazon , E-bay and others .They offer a huge selection of coils .I've never recieved a bad coil . As has already been mentioned usually if the bolt spacing is the same as well as the stator laminations usually it will work .I might once again mention on the rebuilds of two Partner P-100's I found out the coil used on a Husqvarna 272 was a perfect replacement plus after market was inexpensive .It's out there you just need to find it .
