So I was perusing FBMP this morning and saw and ad for a table full of carbs for $500. Owner is closing his shop and these were carbs that were removed from customer cars and tossed on the shelf. Most are in as-removed condition, but some are rebuilt. I got everything for $500 and he threw in 4 quarts of 0W20 and a few cans of brake cleaner.

I don't think I could pass up this deal; I need a Holley 4160 for the '69 Bronco, and those are $538 at Summit. Figure I've got one of those in there somewhere. I'm also guessing that I'll find one OEM carb (Q-jet, Carter, Holley, or Autolite) that will be worth what I paid for the lot.

Now I need to spend a few hours unloading and figuring out what I have.

Ok, so I spent the last few hours unboxing, Googling, tagging, re-boxing, etc. As expected, there was one carb that will allow me to recoup much (all?) of my cost - a 7028211 that's correct for a 1968 manual trans 396 or 427 in a Camaro, Chevelle, or Corvette.

Ended up with about 45 carbs:

-11 Edelbrocks - 600, 650, 750 cfm.
-6 Carters - mostly 625 cfm. Nothing special.
-2 Autolite 4100's, one rebuilt. 2 other Autolites.
-2 Motorcraft 4bbl's - nothing special.
-3 Holleys - a 750 dp, a 750 vac sec, and a 650 Street Warrior.
-9 Rochesters, mostly Quadrajets.
-5 Solex/Bocar
-4 Weber/Empi

Figure the value is about $3,600 if I sell one at a time locally and on eBay, but I don't have the time or energy for that. I'll hang on to the 750 dp and giving the 750 vac sec to a buddy. As for the rest, I'll sell the valuable ones separately, package deal the less valuable ones, and likely toss the ones that have little value and don't sell.

I am interested in a Carter AFB 2903 or 3084. They are easily identified because they have the idle speed adjustment performed by a large slotted screw in the front between the idle mixture screws. Let me know.

You don't need a holley 4160 on a bronco. You need a motorcraft 2100 with brennans garage offroad goodies.

Fk a lousy street carburetor on a 4wd...........ewwwwwwww

Any Marvel Schebler carbs for ag/construction equipment in there? Those can be worth alot to someone that needs to get their tractor running again.

I will gain significant hp and torque and lose some weight by ditching a 2bbl for a 4bbl and decent dual plane aluminum intake.

A Holley Truck Avenger is what I'll probably end up with. Basically a 4160 tweaked to allow for smooth running/better performance on uneven ground.

The 2 barrel carb that originally came on that 302 bronco will feed a small 302 just fine. A truck avenger is just an overpriced street carburetor with bandaids.

If performance upgrades are planned, the 2100 came in different venturi sizes. The larger cfm 2100's even fed big blocks.

From the 12 annular booster venturi cluster that atomizes fuel like no other, to the main jets being way down in the bottom of the float bowl, the 2100 is THE 4wd carb. And of course they plomp down on an aluminum intake just fine.

The 4bbl autolites are hard to find , about 580cfm

Gotcha, thanks!
I know I've got at least 5 or 6 2bbls . 3 small and probably 2 big , one is definitely off a Aunt Ethel's big old Buick 455, but linkage varies greatly among those, maybe one of the small models could be a MOPAR truck?
What are you building?

Ford had a major hard on for one and two barrel carbs right up til EFI became standard. As I remember, even on an F-700 you had to specify a four barrel. Meanwhile, four holes came standard on the mighty 305 (or was it a 307?) in my grandma's Delta 88.

Meh, not really building anything. I have my late father's '65 El Camino that was his daily driver from '70 to '98, with a 283 and 3-on-the-tree. The Rochester 2bbl that is on it has some issues and I was just checking on availability since it sounded like Bulletpruf wanted to shed his stock
