.404 to 3/8 conversion drive links

I got a 21'' Remington roller nose bar that takes 72DL of .404,,, How many drive links of 3/8 will i need???

.404 72 dl is the middle of 3/8 79-80dl according to my measuring gauge. If you have access a breaker and spinner start with 80dl and shorten one dl if needed. Really depends on how much adjustment you have too.

Most 20" 404 bars are 66dl, and 72dl 3/8. A 25" bar has a similar 6dl difference.
72dl 404 is 77.5dl of 3/8 (multiply by 0.404, divide by 0.375), so 6dl difference seems right to me.
I asked about the nose variation because sometimes a 3/8 and a 404 nose are a different profile, I'm assuming you are changing the nose as 3/8 and 404 won't spin over the same sprocket.

It's a roller nose, not a sprocket tip.
