The 390 carb worked until the filter didn’t and it got choked with dry oak chips and dust. I’ve had it apart to clean twice and it still ain’t right. Guess I need to pull the Welch plug….and brush up on carb tests. Saw runs good with an rwj borrowed off my 2166. I should have another rwj around here from the parts 2166 I got from @blackbruin…

Also the rwj it replaced…ran good for a while after I bought the saw but then every time I took the saw out I’d have to fatten the H a little here and there. Finally stopped and check one day and it was way out. Probably dig into that carb and see if I can figure something out. Suggestions?

Thanks

Stumbled on a 296a carb in my box of 7900 junk today. That brought up this thread

The dukes carb was/is good.

The problem was I wrecked the stoeckel stack adapter for a 2166 rwj on the 390 carb. Sorry Kev

Need to get a new stack…and one for the 7900
