I think the bar will fit in the box. Actually, I have one stored away with 3-4 20" bars in the box, and tape over the bar holes.

590 is an excellent bang for the buck, especially with a little porting. 490 is about the lightest saw in its class.

I fully agree with all of that. A 590 is probably the most saw for the money. And correct 490’s are light and nimble. And can’t beat the reliability. I’m sure I could make the bar go with the saw if it was a deal breaker.
