How far are you from a husky dealer and is their service department any good? That's how I'd be figuring out which one to buy.

Maybe I've been lucky with my autotunes . I've never had to take one to a dealer , " knock on wood '' . I currently own 7 autotune saws . The only problem I've had was after a cut when the throttle was released they would shut off . I talked to some people and they recommended run the piss out of it . This problem has never happened with the 572 , only with 550s and 562s . This problem has only happened a few times and only in the winter . IMO don't be afraid of autotunes .

Two things autotune and mtronic MUST have is a fresh plug and fresh fuel. They don’t like plugs with loose gap and carbon on them. They do not tolerate even the slightest bit of moisture/water in the fuel or old fuel. No saw likes these things but even more so with the newer stuff. Most of the problems I’ve had with them were not related at all to the electric carb tuning. The electric carbs do a good job of hiding issues making them harder to find usually. Gotta start with the basics when diagnosing problems. Spark, fuel and compression.

I agree old fuel isn't good . I mixed two gallons on Friday and used about a gallon and a half this weekend . Our gun deer hunting season starts this weekend so I won't be able to cut for a couple weeks . I dumped all the left over fuel out of my saws and my gas can . I don't use oil with fuel stablizer in it so I don' t ever use old fuel , only fresh .

I believe quality fresh fuel would wipe out about half of people's little issues with run ability, starting, etc. If I'm running efree instead of 100ll and its sits for a couple or few weeks I just dump it in the forklift and start fresh lol. One reason I like 100ll last forever.

Not only do the Mtronic and Autotune not comprehend a dull chain, they cannot compensate for fuel quality…You realize this is open loop fool injection right? Carb saws a twitch here and a twitch they run perfect. Screwdrivers, tachs, and ears aren’t for the faint of heart, but they sure are for the faint of wallet.

They actually do better with a dull chain than a normal saw because they add fuel when the saw starts to run hot and lean out. But why would you want to run a dull chain?

I've had trouble with my 572, granted...but with a sharp chain and a 24" bar it was one of the best running, fuel efficient and strongest saws I had run as far as a modified 70cc class saw.

That being said, an OE 372 is literally one of the greats of 70cc class saw, along with the MS460 and PS7900. There is no shame in using any of them, especially if your chain filing ability abides your saw choice! 372 xtorq are often overlooked but are still good powerheads.
