I have a case that I tossed cause of this. Gluing the bearing in doesn't give me the warm and fuzzies. Thought about staking it, but ended up with a new bottom end for my 2071.

If it were me. i would fix it right since your already in there
with a good used case or a new one. Have you priced a new
one? With the amount of 372's out there a good used one should
be easy to come by.

I've used loctite retaining green stuff for up to .030 in 350* stuff with no issues. Only problem is getting it apart if you needed to. I recommend the primer for it also as it will give it the extra edge. Have faith it's going to work and work well. I used that stuff all the time.

Loctite has a product called "press fit" that works fairly well .Raise the metal with a prick, awl or whatever you have in the bearing pocket and drive it home .Let it sit overnight and assemble .They used that stuff at work for wallered out bearing pockets on heavy duty multi tooled machine spindles and it seemed to work .Now we're talking 25 HP electric drive motors on those spindles .

I tried the Loctite bearing sleeve on a 575 case with a bearing that would fall out...I did make some raised bumps around the bearing bore with a prick punch too.. I'm not an experienced machinist but the fix didn't last...

That was my first and only attempt at such a repair and by no means am I suggesting it is not a good fix or that you shouldn't try it.
