I am looking for a .325 8 pin Rim. How do I tell if it is standard or pico? Is it marked with anything to decifer between the standard or pico on the rim anywhere?
Are Stihl and Oregon Rims interchangeable?

Picco is low profile 3/8 chain not .325. Rim brands don't matter as long as you have the correct spline size and pitch for application. What saw is it for? Some Stihl models use a 'micro' sized spline which is slightly smaller than small spline.

325-8

purchase :)

All rim sprockets will be made to take all gauge chains
You just need to match the center drive size to the clutch drum you have.

If it was that simple I would have already done it. LOL
Just doing a little research prior to hitting that button.
A few different options and I want to be sure I get the right one.

OK. Maybe I should just upgrade to a new .325 Oregon Rim Sprocket and get the 7 and 8 pins to match? I think they may even make a 9 pin as well.

No .325x9 pin in small spline from oregon...only standard spline.

Go to your stihl dealer and get some 7 and 8 toof rims and go cut wood.

Lol. OK
I figured if I bought a standard Oregon .325 Rim sprocket, I could get the 7, 8 and 9 and they would all work? Am I wrong in thinking that they would all work?

No they wont work , if its a stihl drum on your saw its a mini spline..you can buy 7 and 8 toof .325 mini spline rims and also a 3/8x7 and a P7 (picco) rim from stihl..thats alot of options...picco is fun on smaller saws.

Its actually called a 'micro' spline size. My MS261's have them and they are a wee bit smaller than the regular small spline. Now I don't own a MS260 but I was pretty sure they took the regular small spline rims not micro spline size. We need to know this for sure before you order online. There are not many AM options for micro but heaps for regular small spline rims. Micro is a Stihl thing making customers go to their dealer to get a rim replacement, I hate them when rims are AU $33 here at a dealer. You need the question properly answered as to whether MS260 is 'Small' or 'Micro'.
