Anybody have any rubber AV mounts sitting around? I think I'm going to go all rubber on my new-to-me 288 Lite.

Yeah, I was looking at the aftermarket ones. I just figured I'd see if there were used OEM ones floating about.

Oe have an "H" or "S" on the metal end
Most am seem to be the hard version but after contacting several sellers, they are pretty clueless 🙄
Springs seem to be the way to go.

I’ve got two used spring buffers.

I likes me some sproings

I run 4 in the back and two rubber in the front IIRC.

Also @Stump Shot found some limiter thingies for the front I think he put on one he did for me, but I haven’t pulled it apart to see ‘em.

You can put standard rubbers up front. Just use the self-tap type,
I think that’s what I did on mine but need to go look :p

I was able to replace the broken spring AV with an NOS one, so that whole saw is running on nothing but springs, much like a modern saw.
A regular 288xp has the large exterior spring in the front and the light has the two front AV's up in the front of the case, 288xp Light. I just happened to stumble upon the limiters for the front which are smaller than an AV and just limit the movement if necessary. Which should help with long bar usage and doesn't weigh that much to not want to have them present. Unfortunately, these kind of parts have been NLA for a long time and I'm not sure the fate of the rest of the parts for the 288xp, time will tell, but it doesn't look good, then again, what does.
