What 'cha got there to sell? If'n I was inclined, I would buy one or two of these 262 saws. One of the best saws Husky ever made. But I sold my Huskies and a Jred off some years ago and its all Stihls in the stable now.

People would rather have a purdy shelf queen........

About that
I got a prettier one. Runs a little snottier than this one. I chalk that up to the early non decomp Mahle jug. It came to me melted down. Jug cleaned up real nice except for one little blem real high up. I figured it's mine till it pukes,if ever. I'd never sell that saw . Pretty is as pretty does.

People just love them 290 Norse boat anchors, don't they? I would buy a 310 at the right price though. Much better saw. Than the 290... not the 262.
That's funny I had a 310 and wasn't very impressed by it...traded it for a 262xp![emoji23]

Yah have to modify the mufflers on those 1127 clam shell Stihl saws to get any performance out of them. They were originally designed with a more open muffler, but got all choked up. You also have to swap in an 036 rim drive. I would trade a 310 for a 262 or a 360/361 any day. Night and day.

The 290 still commands a "premium" though... I saw one on Ebay for $700 after they were discontinued. I posted that one on one of these saw forums (I forget which one) and even El Moobs was impressed.

It had a muffler mod and timing advance. It was ok for what it was but I just wasn't impressed with it.

Well, I no longer own any 1127 saws myself either. I have owned over a dozen of them. Of the line, the 310 was the best for low vibration and grunt. The 029... was one sorry ass saw. Nothing I did helped that saw. It was like the 210; a wood massager.

If Randy's old one wasn't sitting in my Barn now, I'd help you out. I just don't need two. Now a sexy, ported little 357xp? Sure.
