Did you check the squish with the gasket installed? Ever confusion leaving it out or is this a legit resto?

I did check it. It didnt read with my yellow plastigauge so its over .020". I thought about losing the gasket but I figured I would build it to stock specs. Same with the ignition. It was kind of hard building this saw with no mods.

I spent some more time this evening. 2100 pawls are nla but from building others the 288s work. They are not excactly the same shape but they engage fine.IMG_1833.JPG
I learned before if your going to use a bfh in a small space use a drift.IMG_1834.JPG
I clean all crank and flywheel tapers with brake cleaner on a paper towel until I see no residue.IMG_1835.JPGIMG_1837.JPG

Awesome restoration, super clean. I notice you have the 3 pawl flywheel, is that a SEM or FEMSA ignition type? My 1100CD has a FEMSA with 3 pawl flywheel missing a pawl. I might try 288 pawls, thank you sir!
