I just wanted to thank the Hoske’s for hosting another fabulous GTG. Wish I coulda stayed longer but had to get home to get some other stuff done. Rain stayed away, great food, good guys and running saws made for an enjoyable day.

Thanks for the good food, hospitality, and all the hard work that Ron and Mark did to make another good GTG. We even stayed dry this time! Learned some good tips too, especially from Austin and Scott.

So thankful the rain did not spoil our cutting time. Learned some new techniques from a professional faller, thanks Austin and Scott! Had a great time meeting and visiting with some news guys from Wisconsin and catching up with some repeat attendees. Got to run some new to me saws (new production models and some oldies). Thanks all for making the trip and contributing to a great day!!

Fishnuts2 with a beauty of an older IEL Pioneer. Claims to be the first direct drive saw.

20220423_114153.jpg

Equipped with a float type carburetor so the tank/rear handle and carburetor swivel to make felling cuts.

20220423_114134.jpg

Proper starting technique, boot on the kickstand, one hand on the throttle, other hand pulling the rope. And some guys complain about starting the right hand pull McCulloch saws.

20220423_114252.jpg

It is a beauty.

It runs and cuts very well, particularly if you open the petcock for the fuel.

Between Steve and Karl there was an interesting assortment of saws.

This early Diston with the straddle scratcher chain is always popular.

Eric with a big saw on big wood.

Doug demonstrating that battery saws can get the job done too.

Kurtz using Captain Blueberry for what they do best...metal detector. My 7900 is a great tool for that as well.

Before the strike however, Blueberry was getting it done.

I started (almost) every saw I brought but I limited cutting duties to one off brand saw so I didn't have to clean so many saws this week.

Of course any GTG requires several technical sessions and food.

Well, as far as the food goes...there was plenty, it was good, we ate most of it, you need to come find out for yourself next year.

A man, his dog, and his machine. A very good combination.

There was less cooking cutting than some years, so we bucked the GTG logs into firewood lengths to help Mark and Ron get a head start on next year's firewood.

I believe Mark can handle most of the splitting duties from his easy chair.

Shaun’s 395 was actually the unfortunate saw to find the screw in the tree. I hit metal at each of the two other gtg’s I’ve been to so I might have passed my bad luck to him. Luckily I was able to run that 395 before it found the screw and it is impressive.
