Your dead right JJ. Victa cast cylinders here and made pistons too I think. Basically everything was AUS made, deck carb, etc. I bought one of the later 90's Victa 2T mowers home from the tip it was basically new condition but was seized. I cleaned the bore up, put a new piston and rings in it and its a ripper. About half the weight of my 19" commercial current model Honda HRU196. Sux we no longer make things like simple mowers, same for the US I suppose, production goes offshore. But your right near EVERYone had a Victa mower at one stage years ago, my dad did, his dad did and so on. They made a unique sound that was heard in every neighborhood, you knew it was a victa push mower.

There are hundreds of different models of Victa mowers out there for guy's who collect or like tinkering with old mowers. They can be had for cheap most the time I don't pay much over $10 for a going old Victa mower.
Some bring big bucks like a Victa Automatic 5k would pick up a working restored complete one now days.

I'm keeping at lookout for a Victa 500 twin cylinder 170cc they can still be found for cheap not owned one before myself.

I do have one original Victa automatic but not worth anything all the expensive automatic parts are missing. Dought I'd ever find a box with all the bits to make it complete for cheap at a garage sale lol

What are the big tunes running up the bars? I am assuming air intakes/snorkels?

I wish you could buy good new 2T mowers, most brands all have Briggs or Honda 4T which make good power are dead nutz reliable and will outlast every part on the mower itself but they are too heavy. Its like we've gone backwards today's mowers are twice the weight.
