I have a couple and used to be real into them, action pistol and did a lot of my own tweaking on mine. There are forums, etc. out there where you can learn what to look for with them just like this forum for OPE. YouTube etc too I’m sure.

I’ve never seen Defenders for $450, regardless of finish. High fives lowest I’ve ever seen any Defender model.

I have Springfields and kimber 1911, I love them both. Both have been reliable for me for many years but the cheaper Springfield I have shoots better for me.

Springfield and sig seem to hit pretty high quality for somewhat reasonable prices. Get high quality mags, keep good springs in them, keep them clean, shoot ball ammo and don't limp wrist. This is my favorite to shoot.

I have a couple of the full size. They're nothing special. I wouldn't buy them again.
I like the Tripp Research mags.
