Hi guys, been lurking as a guest for awhile now, and have a question for you. I think I have a husqvarna 154 (tag is gone so I looked up some part numbers on the top cover, carb, etc, and came up with 154). The plastic clutch cover was very worn, and missing some parts for the chain brake, so I bought a new one at the dealer (part 503 74 7073). Before I ordered, I looked up the part on jackssmallengines website, it said it should fit the 154 and 254.
When I brought home it to install I found that instead of tabs sticking out the back, the new cover has a peg just behind the brake band. My saw has no place for the peg to fit. Should I just grind off the peg, or possibly drill a hole or slot for it? Anyone else run into this? I'll attach 2 pics of what I'm talking about. Thanks! And hope this isn't too long winded. The pencil tip shows where the peg would go.
