036 Stihl,better filter?

Any mods or a better filter?036 air filter.jpg I used some grease this time.

Hmm, I never had problems with 036 filters, are the fines getting in the seam?

Not sure. I also have a flocked one and saw the same fines inside.

The older flocked types with a wire mesh frame work would suck the flock out given enough time .I think the newer type might be better.

I have that filter on my 034/036 and my red lever 036. Flocked or steel mesh. Not many options.

You could put an 036 Pro or MS360 airfilter on it if you change a few things: Need longer carb studs off of either of those two saws above, short tank vent, pro or ms airfilter, and pro or ms airfilter air cover. image.jpeg
image.jpeg image.jpeg Second pic is the 036 non pro. The bottom is a 036 pro. The MS is similar but you would need to buy a MS 360 cylinder cover to match the more curved profile.

I use a bar tip grease gun and run a line of grease around the groove in one of the filter halves. Also run a line around the part that matches to carb venturi. Seems to really help a lot
