036 Has a little too much.

First I got an 036 running,and then ported it. Was happy with how it came out and put it with some others to bring to camp. Well today I wanted to hear it run. Not so lucky. Need to order some parts and maybe raise the exhaust just a little.

Just get the Elasto-Start replacement rope/handle once you replace the broken parts. I like the smaller version for saw like an 026.

I had an 036 starter break on me once, I think it was because I was lazy on the pull. None the less, I keep some spare parts in the traveling saw tool box just in case it ever happens again.

Al, I want to say that I went with 10 more on the band then you suggested to get where I wanted.The saw started fine and ran good. But I never kitted the carb.

036/360 are very good saws but I also had recoil problems with it. I replaced with another one then gave the saw to my father for birthday or father's day.

ha.. ihad a 034super last week come thru with the same problem. new rope reel and rope pawls and clip spring all good again. and an old 039 i rebuilt early last year did the same over the weekend the owner tells me.
better check them for an expiry date. lol

I have to get a compression reading on it. I totally curious. I just pull it like I mean it. No half assed sissy starts for this one.

I wear what's comfortable, especially while I'm working. That shirt looks great compared to some of mine..

most of my tshirts are blue and black they let less welding rays through and less chance of sunburn through the shirt i dont like wearing welding jackets or heavy clothing

The shirt is just fine IMO, but sneakers, no eye or ear protection when using a chainsaw !!!! That would not be me. Safety up and stay with us for a while!

I know my pops is hard headed, I tell him to protect himself. He has gotten better, I think I just gave him the saw in this picture. Before he was cutting with an 021 and he wanted to see what the new saw could do. You are right protect yourself because accidents happen quick with saws.

Little update. I used this kit along with a used reel and the fancy cord.I had also rebuilt the carb.Again I thought it was ready to go. The recoil stood up to a lot of pulling while trying things. Ended up with a different carb to get it to run .

My oh36 is in Tennessee gettin "tuned up" should be home soon I hope. Maybe I should invest in some spare starter pawls?
