i think a 2 month soak might help them.@Keith Gandy
@drf256
I think these two guys will be able to help you Jake
Iirc they put a generous coating of some sort of tire gel on the plastics and lets them sit for a day or so and then wipe the gel off
simple green is mild and should work well i will try it when i get my saw back from scott.Jake,
Try simple green and see what happens.
Purple power removes stains very well, but it unfortunately also removes any luster the covers have to them. It will also remove the writing on the metal badge, so be careful.
Applying Meguair's tire get after purple power will give the saw a nice Matt sheen after purple power.
I haven't tried clear coat after purple power yet, but I bet it works.
I tried the Valspar paint everyone says is great and it wasn't so great.simple green is mild and should work well i will try it when i get my saw back from scott.
i got a few cans of specialty plastic paint its Husqvarna orange so the color match should be close.
i might just hit it with very fine sand paper and clear coat it to give it a rat rod look.Be sure to post up the results. I'm curious to find something better
