The drum for the adjustable oiler is deeper to allow for the notch that drives the worm gear spring.

When I bought the saw I bought an AM one thinking it would fit but I'd rather have an OEM one if it doesn't cost to much.

Your right I don't need it, If I can get all the parts for around $20 I'll change it over just to stop the oiling while it's at idle.
