026 cylinder on 024

What's involved in doing this? Can you change the top cover?
We have customers asking sometimes but I don't know what to tell them.
Has anyone done it?

What about a 036 cylinder on an 034?

The crankcase needs to be an 024 Super because of the stroke.
026 cylinder will not produce power (without serious machine work) on a Standard 024

036 on 034 will work with the original top cover with a little bit of trim work on the cover. The trimming is done on the underside, so it would not be noticeable once installed. With patience, you can do all of the trimming of the cover with a razor knife and elbow grease. That is how I did it anyway. He is very happy with the saw too.

If you put the 026 cylinder on an 024 chassis and still wish to use the 024 top cover, two of the cooling fins on top of the 026 cylinder have to be cut-off/trimmed and a third above the spark plug has to be shaped slightly in order for the 024 cover to fit. It's not hard to do.

024S to 026, like JJ said.

034 to 036 requires cover trim above as well as 036 muffler or 034S muffler spacer I believe.

If I ever find the time, I'm gonna post what it takes to put an 026 jug on a non-super 024.

The 024 flywheel has different/less functional cooling fins than 026 flywheel.
