You could try putting the barb in the freezer for a couple of hours to shrink it...then take it out and immediately drive it in.

You might want to look into Timeserts...not certain if they make them that small, but in my opinion, they are a superior product...

I installed a Bailey kit in my 290 a coupla months ago...couldn't be happier...runs stronger than original, gets the bigger stuff that I need gotten. You'll be fine, much less fuss and muss, and it's got a warranty!

I just got my old XL500 running last night...hadn't run in several years...rebuilt the carb...got an NOS carb as a spare...new fuel line...kept starving out last evening...let it sit...went out today, problem gone! Fired right up and kept running! Tuned it, good to go!

You could go to an auto body supply house and get a pretty dern close match. But I agree with Lee H...a chainsaw ain't supposed to look new! Every scratch tells a story...clean it up as best you can and be done with it! But, if you do want 'new', the auto body supply house can use computer...
